Ordering and shipping information
**PLEASE NOTE**  We currently DO NOT ship chicks to  SD and Hawaii due to strict state
regulations, special permits, red tape, and expense.   Sorry!

Shipped Chicks Terms

We are NPIP certified in the state of Ohio.  
Most of our day old chicks ship on a  pre-sale basis.  
We hatch chicks weekly and ship Monday - Wednesday
The minimum chicks per order for shipping is 15, this can be a combination of different breeds.  

******We reserver the right to refuse chick or egg sales at our discretion******

                                 NO ORDERS ARE VALIDATED WITHOUT PAYMENT

We will give you an approximate date that birds can ship on when your order is paid, but please
be aware that we are working with living products. There are many variables, shipping dates are
approximate and on occasion we may have to change a shipping date. If you need your birds by a
certain date, feel free to request it on your order. We will do our best to meet your request.

We will include extra chicks in case there are any lost during shipping.   If you suffer a  loss  of
more than the extra chicks we have included please contact us immediately so we can take care
of the problem.

You must take a camera with you to the post office to pick up your chicks.  Open the box
at the post office and take pictures of any losses -
(this step is very important to receive a refund for any
losses).
 Have a postal worker document the amount of chicks lost.
lPlease contact us immediately with information and pictures of any losses.    No refunds
will be issued after 4
8 hours.
Chicks will only be reshipped if more than 1/2 of your order is lost.
We do try to add FREE extra chicks when available but they may not always be of the chick breed
that you ordered.

Cancellations are subject to a 25% cancellation charge.  
There are
no refunds once the eggs are set.
In the event that we can not fill your order you will receive a full refund.

HOW TO PLACE YOUR ORDER

You can email your order to us at Sales@TheFancyChick.com  Please include breed, quantity,
your name, address, phone, email address (PayPal email address) and date you would like to
receive your order. We will send you a PayPal invoice with the total for your order.   Your order
will not be validated until payment is received.

If you are using our online ordering please be sure to select 'Express shipping' ($40.00 for up to
50 chicks) or 'Priority shipping' ($20.00 for up to 25 chicks) when you email your order.

YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS:
IF YOU ARE USING PAYPAL AS YOUR PAYMENT METHOD, WE SHIP TO YOUR  ADDRESS LISTED ON
PAYPAL ONLY.    IF YOU WANT YOUR ORDER SHIPPED TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS CHANGE IT ON
PAYPAL PRIOR TO ORDERING.

On rare occasions on hatch day we may be short on a breed you have ordered.  Please let us
know at checkout if you prefer not to receive a substitute in order to fill your order.
If we have to substitute you would receive chicks of equal or greater value and we try to stay
within the breed that you ordered.

When we receive your payment we will send you a confirmation email  with your approximate ship
date.   We will send a final email a day or two before your order is due to ship to give you a
chance to get your brooder ready for your chicks!

Egg prices include shipping, minimum egg order is one dozen (12) and
can be mixed between several different breeds.


While our fertility rate is excellent  and we hatch these same eggs weekly, we can not
guarantee your hatch rate due to all the variables with shipped eggs:  
Extreme temperature change (freezing the embryo) ,
Rough handling of the package during shipping (causing damage to the air sack),
X-raying the package by the postal service
Distance the eggs have to travel (the more miles you increase the more percentage of
hatch you could decrease)
Not to mention the delicate incubation process.

The bottom line is shipped eggs are always risky and we can not guarantee your eggs will
hatch.  Although we wrap each egg individually and cushion the inside of the box,  we
have no control over what happens to the eggs once they have been shipped.

If you are not willing to accept that risk, we suggest ordering chicks.

Our minimum chick order is now 12 for LF shipped day-old chicks
We do not have a 'store front' and are a privately owned farm.  We encourage shipping instead of
chicks picked up at the farm.  If you are local and want to pick up your chick order they can be picked
up by
appointment only and must be picked up within 3 days of hatching.
We do not give tours or allow visitors in our poultry breeding area due to NPIP regulations.
