We are excited to present our Crele Orpington
project for the first time.

A little about the Crele Orpingtons:
It was created in Denmark and called
Legbarfarvet Orpington.
Males have a warm gold color in the Hackle,
saddle and shoulders and if possible no brown
or red in the cuckoo colored breast and thighs.
Because of the fluffiness of the orpington
feathers the pattern is not very sharp, but makes
a good picture overall.
The eye color of the crele Orpingtons is
brown-red, the beak and the legs are pink white.
The hens are a salmon color
This variety of orpington throws a variation in
coloring from bird to bird and generation to
generation making each bird very unique.

We are on the 3rd generation and our project
still has a ways to go. We are please with
what we are turning out though.
With the introduction of the Lemon Cuckoo
Orpington into the USA this year we decided to
take advantage of the size and barring for our project. We are raising the
first chicks now from the mating of our HUGE Lemon Cuckoo roo to our
crele project hens.
Are also raising chicks from the Crele roo to the right over some of our
hens and the prodgeny of these matings will be bred together for the 4th
and 5th generation
We will be offering chicks and eggs from these beautiful birds from time to
time as we continue our project.
This is a photo of a pure crele
Orpington rooster courtesy of
my friend Keith Gibbons,
Berkshire England, his proud
owner.
Unfortunately Keith does not
ship to the USA but his website
is a world of information on
Orpingtons, colors and
genetics.
It has been a huge help with
the orpington projects we are
working on like our Crele
project orps below. We are
hoping in another generation
or two they will look like this big
guy.
For more pictures and color
This is the third generation project Creles
4th Generation was produced from 1/2 of the birds above bred to our Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons for size and type. The color turned out very light but type is better
|
The other half were bred to each other to preserver the dark color. Color is looking good. They are a little younger than the birds on the left.
|
We are going to breed these two lines back together and hopefully produce the darker color with fuller body. Will post pics of the 5th generation later in 2012
